A new finding, based on the data of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), revealed that about thirty-five percent of Americans have diagnosed with diabetes. Moreover, another twenty-six percent is on the risk of developing it. The finding says, further, that the occurrence of identified diabetes increased from 5.1 percent in 1988-1994 to 6.5 percent in 1999-2002. At the same time, it also calculates approximately that about one third of diabetics are still undiagnosed.
