Here is a good news especially for diabetics suffering from obesity. Byetta’s drug for type-2 diabetes is causing a side effect — it is weight loss. This is big news for them. The drug is based on a hormone found in the saliva of a scary lizard. It assists the body to make insulin and to manage blood sugar as well.
It upholds the feeling of flavor after eating and it regulates eating practices. The weight loss caused by Byetta is a bonus for obese diabetics because loss of weight reduces the complications linked with Type-2 diabetes.
Now experts are expecting if Byetta can be helpful in reducing obesity! Experts are prescribing it to non-diabetics too, but it sparked in criticism. Byetta is costly and can be obtained with prescription only.

I have been taking Byetta for about 6 months. I have lost 20 lbs and my hemoglobin A1C measure dropped from 8.2 to 6.7 according to my last test results. I have never felt better. During my last visit, my doctor asked me to switch to an oral Byetta called Januvia. I switched, and within 2 weeks my blood sugars were running about 300 and I felt really bad. I had to miss 2 days work because I felt so awful. I switched back to Byetta and everything returned to normal. This Januvia is no Byetta.
