If women have diabetes, their babies are three times at risk to die at birth. They are two times at the risk of developing abnormalities in later life. They can have heart problems and neural tube defects too. It does not matter if women had developed diabetes in their childhood or diagnosed with diabetes because of obesity. The research was concluded on the risk of diabetes and its impact on pre-born babies. The British Medical Journal has published the study report.
