Diabetic women not getting pre-pregnancy counselling

Diabetic women don’t properly receive counseling on birth control from health experts. If the diabetic women conceive without blood sugar control, it can not be safe for the baby. The unplanned pregnancy causes twice the risk of birth defect in case of diabetic women. And half of them only visit for counseling in comparision with non diabetic women. Dr. Eleanor Bimla Schwarz of the University of Pittsburgh says that if the blood sugar is nicely controlled when the women want to conceive, there will be much better chance of pregnancy and delivery without any problems. He advises the diabetic women, who are planning to have kids, to go for visit to gynecologist regularly before and after pregnancy.
