Dicoccum: A new variety of wheat, developed for diabetic patients

Scientists at Indian Council of Agricultural Research have developed a new variety of wheat containing low calorie content for the diabetic patients. ‘Dicoccum’ also called DDK 1029 is the new variety of wheat. The food products prepared from this wheat help in controlling cholesterol in blood along with maintaining sugar levels, resulting in low calorie. It has been developed by All India Coordinated Research Project at Dharward center of University of Agricultural Sciences
