Not only HIV, Africa is also facing the danger of heart diseases, diabetes and cancer too. These diseases are as critical or debatable as epidemics like HIV, TB and Malaria spreading in Africa. This research is commissioned by WHO in Africa. About 30% of Africans are suffering from high blood pressure and 20% from diabetes in urban areas. More than 80% of diabetes cases are of type 2. Diabetes and obesity, both links to the risk factor for heart strokes. Yet these diseases failed to fetch a similar attention as HIV and other epidemics do. WHO came to the conclusion with the analysis of 57 studies from more than 20 African countries.
