Urine test is not adequate to diagnose diabetes. Experts can look for the symptoms like — too much thirst, repeated urination and blood glucose level or glucose level in urine. Doctors identify diabetes by observing some factors like: 1) Ancestorial history of diabetes 2) Thirst and frequent urination 3) Heart problems 4) Rising level of glucose in blood and urine. The other methods are fasting and postprandial glucose tests for testing glucose levels in blood. The oral glucose tolerance test is another kind of blood test. Blood glucose is measured before and after a person has taken a thick, sweet drink of glucose. In diabetics, blood glucose level increases and remains high after consumption of the drink.
