Lower level of ‘LDL’ reduces heart risks in diabetics

Low level of ‘LDL’ or bad cholesterol radically decreases the chances of heart attack in the people with diabetes and heart disease. The researchers have concluded after an experiment that the high-dose statins may help for patients with heart disease and diabetes. An earlier study had showed the statin drug Lipitor at 80 milligrams per day is beneficial for patients with stable coronary disease. Dr. James Shepherd of the Royal Infirmary, Glasgow, UK and associates has reported the detail in the journal ‘Diabetes Care’.
