High-Lysin Corn LY038, a new genetically altered corn uses for animal feed. It does not pose any health risk. New Zealand’s food standard board has approved it for animal nourishment. The LY038 may prove as unsafe if it cooks with sugars, which also found in the corn. An amalgam, AGE, produces when cooks with sugar and may cause Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, and other diseases. However, Monsanto has said that they have applied for approval for its use in human foods. The government food agency is yet not serious about any test and its health impact if LY038 gets in human foods.
