Short leg people are at risk of diabetes and obesity

Short height of people may increase the risk of obesity and the onset of type 2 diabetes. The journal ‘Diabetes Care’ has published a research report that concluded by Dr. Keiko Asao and his associates of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. They concluded a research on the people with low leg length-and-height ratio. They found that low leg length-to-height ratio is another sign of suboptimal childhood development. Women enjoy high percentage of body fats if she is short-heighten, shorter leg length, and lower leg length-to-height ratio. Lower leg length-to-height ratio was also associated with greater levels of insulin resistance in subjects without diabetes. Shorter height, shorter leg length and lower leg length-to-height ratio, if together, may pose the risk of higher prevalence of diabetes.
