
If you are undergoing surgery with having high level of sugar then you may be jeopardizing your life. The researchers found during the course of their study that the patients who undergo surgery with having high sugar level have more chances of developing blood clots than the normal patients.
Stressing upon the need of controlling blood sugar level, study’s lead author, Dr. Boris Mraovic who is an assistant professor of anesthesiology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia said:
The take-home message is that all patients should get their blood sugar under control before undergoing elective surgery.
Personally, I believe that it is an important revelation that all the surgeons and patients should imbibe.
